    Dendera & Abydos tour from Hurghada (Private)

    Leave the beach for a day and head to Dendera Temple and Abydos Temple in luxury on a private day trip accompanied with your private Egyptologist tour guide. Upon pickup you start traveling to Qena, then one more hour towards Sohag to visit:

    Abydos Temple:

    One of the most important religious centers of the country, the necropolis of Abydos-capital of the eighth upper Egyptian nome-lies around 9 miles (15 KM) south of the modern city of Balyana. From the days of the Old kingdom this was a place of worship for Osiris, the god of death and vegetation. The temple of Sety I occupies a prominent position in the religious buildings of the New Kingdom because of its unique architecture and high quality of its reliefs.

    Dendera the ancient Tantera called Tentyris by the Greeks is an extensive site with tombs dating back to the earliest dynasties, it was the capital of Egypt's sixth nome. its most famous monument is the Temple of Hathor, enclosed within a great mud brick wall, Begun under the late Ptolemaic kings ( probably Ptolemy XII ) two building phases under the Romans followed.
